Yesterday the Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin held a Zoom meeting with the guest speaker Jacek Kozlowski, the coordinator of the Warsaw World Peace Bell. Also present was Anja Mewes from the Berlin World Peace Bell Chapter and Ian Brown chair of the Cowra World Peace Bell Chapter and member of the Rotary Club of Cowra. Also present at the meeting were members of other Rotary Clubs and also Peter Clapinski the supplier of the Rotary 100 Peace Poles. This is the first time that these four Peace Bell coordinators were able to join the same meeting. It is through such meetings that better understanding emerges leading to greater cooperation.

Jacek also distributes Peace Poles in Poland and has done so for the past twenty years. The idea for the Rotary 100 Peace Pole project to see 100 Peace Poles distributed by Rotary Clubs to 100 schools took its inspiration from the work done in Poland. We all share the common wish and hope – “May Peace Prevail on Earth”.
